Hello everyone,

I know that usually the order is chosen the other way around. However, I would like to have the screed done first and then plaster. The reason is that I would like to have flush skirting boards and in my opinion, it is easier to achieve if the screed is already in the house.

Is there any reason not to swap the order?

Thanks and regards
Micha

Hello, the interior plaster not only serves to hide the bricks but also acts as an airtight layer. For this reason, I would not do this on exterior walls since no plaster would be applied to the wall up to the height of the screed. For interior walls, it does not matter. Alternatively, there is the option to apply a thin layer of plaster up to the screed surface height and ensure airtightness below the screed. Thin-layer plaster adds only about 5 mm so that the baseboard can still be flush.

Does that mean you would suggest the normal way? So first interior plaster --> then screed In the area of screed height plus baseboard height only thin plaster and then the normal plaster thickness? But that can't be easily implemented either, right? Or stick the plaster rail at the desired height, so the lower edge of the plaster rail is screed height plus baseboard height and only plaster thinly in this area and then normally above it?
