We have an open/large living and dining area and would like to slightly separate it with a fireplace. On the left and right, about 1m wide each should remain open for passage.

Dining + cooking is in the southeast, the living room in the southwest, and the show fireplace should stand in between. It should be ceiling-high and about 1.50-2m wide.

Do you have any recommendations? We were thinking of water vapor or electric. Possibly ethanol? The Opti-myst Cassette 1000 caught our eye, although the Richen Zeus is significantly larger and cheaper (electric instead of water vapor).

Does anyone have experience with which looks better visually? I am attaching a photo.

I find the steam technology "nicer" than the technology behind the light shows of, for example, Zeus.
Still, they somehow still look to me like fire in slow motion.

I have now seen a few videos with the "Opti Virtual" technology.
At least in the video, it already looks quite fancy.
Does anyone here have experience with it?

Gas or "real" fire. There are nice see-through fireplaces. We also had that in the last house (wood).
