Hello everyone,

is there nowadays a guideline for how high the finished floor should be above street level? Or what are your experiences, how many steps do you have to the front door?

Thank you very much

We are just slightly below. No steps to the front door are planned, only a small ramp. This, of course, requires that we go deeper in between and can channel the water around the house.

We are also about 15cm below sidewalk level with the finished floor height. This is also compensated for by the parking spaces.

There was no obligation for us. It was directly adopted in the building application.

What does the development plan say about it?

Show us the house drawn on the plot with height specifications.

That way, no one can give you any advice.

For example, I have 3 steps up. How does that help you?

At our place, the architect originally assumed 15cm above the curb, which will then be adjusted in terms of slope during paving without a step. Distance about 6-7m to the boundary. One wise statement was once "you have to look 'up' to the house and not down." In some building areas, this was not taken into account and you can tell what truth there is in the statement.

When it comes to height, also consider the sewage system if applicable. With a slab foundation, this is usually not a problem; with a basement, a lifting station may possibly be required.
