Yesterday the foundation slab builder was here and, in addition to the existing rough staking from the surveyor, he measured the house itself using GPS/satellite. The BPL builder said I could save the 600€ for the fine staking by the surveyor, but he didn’t know if that would be mandatory in Rücklauf-Pfalz. Ultimately, the 600€ doesn’t hurt me, but I’m not just giving money away either. But what happens if the house or the BPL later deviates from the building application – who is then liable? I mean, the surveyor can make mistakes just as well as the BPL builder? However, once a BPL is in place, I can’t just move it by a few cm or half a meter into the correct position with a helicopter and some ropes, can I?

Not fundamentally; it depends on how your building supervisory authority is on that. §77 State Building Code (2) Before the start of construction, the footprint of the building must be staked out and its elevation determined. The building supervisory authority can require that the staking out and determination of the elevation be carried out or approved before the start of construction by expert persons or bodies. Ask there what is customary in your municipality. For fine staking out, this is not the suitable method, at least not without thorough checks with other measuring devices. Surveyors usually offer complete packages, so that the individual service cannot be taken out or that taking it out makes other services more expensive. If it works for you, it’s worth considering, but: If the surveyor does that, his insurance pays. Other professional groups are assumed gross negligence and have to pay themselves. That can make a company disappear from the map. That was the surveyor’s perspective. , now it’s your turn.

I have now come to leave the surveyor package completely as it was originally intended. The trouble that can arise (but does not have to) if it happens that way is much greater than the 600€.
