Final inspection of the house: what can be complained about - purchase price reduction?

we have built a turnkey house and our final inspection is coming up soon.

Of course, there are some minor defects and we are wondering if we could deduct money for them. (e.g. dents or scratches on the window frames or the exterior sills, chipped edge on the interior sill)

Are there any experiences with this? Do you always pay the full price or is it even common to deduct something?

If finding defects is meant to be used for price bargaining, I will not give any tips. I would find that extremely shabby. If it is about pointing out defects and finding solutions to remedy them, that is of course something different.

Withdrawing money will certainly not be accepted by your house construction company. They are more likely to offer you a remedy if it really concerns a defect.

Scratches on the window frames unfortunately cannot be removed anymore. The defects must definitely be reported, no matter how small or large they are.

The carpenters started yesterday to cover the underside of the carport. It will be white and was quickly finished and painted as ordered by the carpenter. What, of course, happens when the workers install the white panels is that they don’t stay white for long ;) The carpenters don’t want to repaint it anymore because they have already painted it twice. I will talk to the boss again now and if I have to do it myself, I will deduct the costs from him.

I also complained to the electrician about the covering of the dirty cable ducts in the utility room. You don’t have to accept everything for the money you pay nowadays!
