Good evening everyone,
we are currently building a house with a prefabricated house company using timber frame construction and shortly after the selection of materials, we were informed that we now have to install a arc fault detection protection device in our house. I had never heard of this before and it means additional costs of about 4000 euros for us.
I have already read quite a bit about it here in the forum and the purpose of this device is very controversially discussed. Even my insurance does not insist on this device.
The house building company tells me they have been required to install these protections since January 2018 – but I can’t quite believe that. Does anyone perhaps have a source where I can get exact information on this or does someone have expertise in this matter??
Many greetings and have a nice evening
