Factory sealing glass shower cabin

Hello everyone,

we are currently looking for a custom shower enclosure. Now I have the difficult choice between countless glass options. In addition, you can choose a sealing. A somewhat cheaper one with a 3-year warranty and a somewhat more expensive one with a 5-year warranty. In general, this adds a good 30-40% surcharge, so I am wondering how worthwhile that is.

Our water is softened anyway, and we already wipe down the shower after every shower. Additionally, there is also the option to impregnate the shower yourself, but that certainly doesn't last very long. And honestly, you only do that once and then at some point you don't care anymore...

Therefore the question, does anyone have experience with "professional" sealings? Are they worth the money?

I know the difference from two showers. Sealed (about 15 years ago) and today (shower is 1/2 year old). I skip the sealing, wipe down the shower and clean it, for example, with vinegar cleaner.

Thank you for your information. Honestly, at the offered surcharge, statements of enthusiasm would have to appear here as a response to convince me. So it will be a shower without sealing. Thank you.

I'm interested too. I just have an offer. The cheap steamed sealing costs an extra €60, the expensive one €400. You can consider €60, it's just a question of how much it brings. I find €400 quite steep.

My experience also tells me that they have no long-term effect and are more of a money-making scheme, similar to those pointless coatings in car washes that wash off completely after the next rain.

Car wax twice a year. The pure wax without abrasive and polishing agents. That's it.
