Hello,
for our Kfw55 bungalow new build, the exterior plaster is currently due. The construction company wants to do without reinforcing mesh. Is that correct for fiber-reinforced plaster? The color is anthracite.
The statements regarding this:
- Crack-prone areas (roller shutter boxes and parapets) will be directly treated on the plaster base (masonry) with reinforcing mortar and mesh
- Additionally, the areas with larger open joints will be directly treated on the plaster base with reinforcing mortar and mesh. This represents an additional measure beyond the actual standards to achieve extra security in these areas.
- Then the plaster application with fiber-reinforced lightweight base coat (Knauf Super Lupp) takes place. This lightweight base coat is among those tested and recommended by the company Xella for the masonry used, PPW 2/0.35. (We can very gladly have the recommendation list emailed again by the company Xella)
- A full-surface mesh reinforcement (recommended for TSR systems) is omitted for cost reasons, since this only minimizes stresses in the plaster surface.
What would you recommend?
Best regards
Olaf
