Experiences with thatched roofs

Hello, are there any experiences with thatched roofs here? What does a re-roofing cost? How long does something like that last? What are the ongoing costs? What about insurance, etc.? Is a house with a thatched roof generally recommended? What are your experiences? Thanks and regards Ashley

Otherwise, it probably depends a lot on when and how it was covered and what the roof substructure is like.. if you browse, you find reports about houses with conventional covering (without vapor barrier) and otherwise good insulation... this leads to the reed rotting and not drying through.

It is strongly recommended to consult a specialist before purchasing.
