Hi everyone,

We are wavering between Röben Flandern Plus and Röben Bergamo, so a flat smooth tile.

Are there any positive or negative experiences with smooth tiles here in the forum?

We like the look, but who knows if they weather, get dirty, etc. faster or have any other significant disadvantages. There is little practical information to be gleaned from the product data sheets.

Thank you very much for your feedback!

We had also thought about it for a long time (Braas Tegalit), but then decided against it. The flat tiles will technically be okay, but the problem is that you see every little flaw: every broken corner, every tiny ripple in the installation, moss on the drip edges, drip streaks, widespread haze due to dust, weathering, etc. Normal roof tiles are much more tolerant of imperfections.

Thank you very much, Hangman. Sounds logical. Maybe there are other similar or different experiences?

Since we live on the hillside, I see at least 3 neighbors who have some. Visually, I would also like them. I don't see any problem.

I don't know the brand that our neighbors have, but they look exactly the same. And they are blinding as hell. On gloomy days not noticeable, nice and matte. As soon as the sun shines, I have to lower the blinds depending on the angle - f.u.c.k.i.n.g annoying. No idea if they knew (high-gloss tiles are explicitly forbidden, precisely because of the glare) or not, but it's incredibly irritating and something I will be annoyed about every single time all summer long. Probably for the next 20 years, unless I find some relaxation exercise against it...
