I would like to share with you my experience with the OTROLIG induction cooktop. First of all: If I were Ikea, I would take this cooktop off the market.
We chose OTROLIG because we already had an induction cooktop in our old apartment and had very good experiences. The OTROLIG design appealed to us the most of all the cooktops (and we also compared outside of Ikea).
In my personal experience, unfortunately, that was the only good thing about the cooktop. As soon as moisture gets on the cooktop, for example from steam, the settings change. If you try to quickly wipe away the moisture with a dry Zewa cloth, the cooktop switches off completely, and the preset cooking time is also lost. You can turn on 2 cooking zones again, but try to get the 2 timers back—how are you supposed to know the remaining time on the timer?
PS: Three Ikea employees assured us that this behavior is normal. Strange, we have no problems with our current cooktop.
