Hello everyone,

we want to plaster our Ytong facade starting in April. We currently have the opportunity to buy reinforcing mesh from an acquaintance at a good price.
I would like to know from you whether this mesh is suitable for this purpose?

Excerpt from the datasheet:
- Material type: E-glass
- Area weight: 135g/m²
- Warp: 272 tex, 9 mm mesh opening, 1700N/5cm, tensile strain 3.8%
- Weft: 600 tex, 10.5 mm mesh opening, 1600N/5cm, tensile strain 3.8%

It would also be interesting to know how much you pay for the mesh per m². We were offered it on a 100 m roll for 55ct/m².

Can anyone give an expert opinion on the listed reinforcing mesh?
We would appreciate your feedback.

What kind of savings are we talking about here? 15 cents per sqm? So for 100 sqm an amazing 15€. Buy it and get a pizza with the savings.

Normally "we" don’t buy fabric but have the plaster done by professionals. But it shouldn’t cost more than 70-80 cents per sqm if you look for fabric for ETICS.

Of course, it’s not a huge chunk we’re saving here, but nowadays, you gladly take even that. Fundamentally, it’s about the assessment here. Do you have experience with this or are you just looking at the price?

With an item like fabric, you can only look at the price. Otherwise, there are no significant differences in the material. And even the price I wouldn't really focus on.
