Hello!

Does anyone of you know anything about especially durable indexable inserts in size 14x14x2?
The reason for this: We join the plastic-coated chipboards before edge gluing with a spiral jointing cutter on the table router, and the problem with the standard indexable inserts is that after a few meters the "tearing" starts again!
After that, I talked to my sharpening service and he told me there are "electrocorundum" or similar indexable inserts that have a longer service life!?
Who of you knows where I can get them and if they are any good!?
How do you do it otherwise?

I have brought up the topic again. My knowledge about it is limited, but I believe a spiral groove cutter is not well suited for this. These chipboards increasingly contain foreign objects, and therefore machining is becoming more and more difficult.

As a hobbyist, I am of course also curious to learn that. That's true, such a spiral groove cutter is not suitable for that. I have already heard something about [Edelkorund] and it consists of hard material. I use that to sharpen the chainsaw. I handle that well.

I have no personal experience and have only read about it. For this, milling cutters with arrow-shaped inserts are required. These are solid-inserted polycrystalline diamond (PKD) cutters.

That is interesting, what Nicole writes in 1988. Now the question for me is where can I get such a fully equipped PKD cutter. Our sharpening service does not have something like that.
