Hello,

we are considering building a single-family house and are currently gathering information. We want a very simple heating system, namely a gas boiler with underfloor heating. I have been to three construction companies so far and have always been told that I cannot install only a gas boiler because according to energy regulations at least 20% of the energy must be obtained from renewable sources. Therefore, in addition to the gas boiler, a solar system, controlled residential ventilation, or a completely different heating technology (pellet heating, heat pump) must be used. Is it really the case that I am legally obliged to comply with the 20% requirement? Even if I do not want to take advantage of any grants or subsidies?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

Regards

It is described quite well here: search for "Erneuerbare Energien-Wärmegesetz" Use obligation and replacement measures. The use of biogas could be interesting for you, with it you can also fulfill the requirements, further measures would then not be necessary.
