Hello everyone,

my house is about to flood.
The water is standing at the house and behind it, clay has been diligently pushed to prevent it from draining away.

The site manager thinks it’s fine, the inspector is relaxed.
Can I be too?

Does clayey soil require drainage and if so, who installs it, the developer?
I haven’t found anything about this in the contract.

Thank you very much!

Don’t you have a soil survey?

We also have clayey subsoil, and our soil survey therefore provides for soil replacement and drainage. The earthworker also immediately requested a copy of the soil survey and is working exactly according to the foundation recommendation.

Yes, but it only says that the soil is unsuitable for rainwater infiltration. There is nothing about drainage, only that we have loam with gravel from 40cm...

We also have clay soil. Therefore, the basement was constructed with a white tank as a precaution. Additionally, we have a deep drainage and a surface drainage. Without the drainages, the house would be dry (due to the white tank), but the property would be completely swampy.

So there is no foundation recommendation in the soil report?

The founding recommendation does not include drainage, so probably not necessary...
