Hi,

I had a phone call yesterday with another builder and he told me that he is laying KG2000 pipes for the drainage line because he heard that it is supposed to be mandatory soon (time frame unknown) to install KG2000 pipes in water protection areas.

Does anyone know about this? Can the city actually require the drainage line to be replaced afterwards? Would the price difference between the two types be marginal, so that it would indeed make sense to install KG2000 pipes right away?

Regards,

I actually consider it impossible to demand this retrospectively...

If at all, it would only work for future buildings or renovations from day X onward...

2 meters of KG pipe can be bought online for about 7.00 euros... 2 meters of KG pipe 2000 for 11.00 euros... so that makes a price difference of 2.00 euros per running meter... if you have, for example, 20 meters, that amounts to 40 euros... so not a lot...

KG elbow... about 1.60 euros
KG 2000... about 4.50 euros
KG branch... about 3.80 euros
KG 2000... about 8.10 euros...

so you can always calculate double here...

Doesn't sound really bad. What is the standard diameter for the drainage pipe? DN110?

In the house we have KG100 and outside up to the connection sewer it must have been KG150...

It may be that 2000 is a bit excessive.... but, from my own experience, I would handle it myself and ask the municipality or the building authority. Everything in writing, so that you always have something in hand.

Regarding the statement of a builder.... no, I wouldn't rely on that. Besides, there is no general statement about water protection areas that is always correct.... That can vary regionally.
