Hello,

our bricklayers have now finished their work, so the jointing has started immediately.

We have the following wall construction:

17.5m aerated concrete
14cm cavity insulation
1cm air gap
clinker

Now I have noticed that at the places where the Z-foil protrudes from the masonry at the bottom, no drainage joints are installed above.

Our site manager says that there are current studies and they have not been installing these for 1-2 years. However, I find nothing about this online, it is always referred to as necessary!

I would appreciate your opinions ...

He is supposed to prove to you that it is state of the art. What does your [Bausparvertrag] say about it?

Good evening,

According to DIN EN 1996-2/NA, drainage openings are no longer explicitly required. So your site manager is right.

Trust is indeed a wonderful thing

Thank you, I’m glad to hear that ... which is why I chose this forum instead of, as sometimes demanded, going directly through the building savings contract or a written statement from my supervisor.

I have also heard a similar tip, unfortunately the DIN standards cannot be found online.
Thank you very much!

Hello,

It would have been enough if you had trusted your BL; after all, you are a layperson and there was probably a reason why you chose exactly that contracting partner who is now building your single-family house. Otherwise, for your gut feeling, you could have commissioned external construction supervision; that would have been a good addressee for the above question.

This standard is not to be overlooked at all; it even seems to come up when you "only" search for clinker + drainage opening.

Rhenish greetings

we do that too!

Maybe I expressed myself incorrectly, I would have liked to read the standard myself once ... I have also found the copies. Especially because in our new development area construction is being done with drainage openings, I am interested in what exactly is written inside ... you also want to learn something when building
