Hello forum,

two door fittings in the basement are to be replaced, each with a warded lock fitting and a profile cylinder fitting.

[*]The previous warded lock fitting has a "key guide" in the keyhole, but the warded lock fitting under consideration does not have a "key guide" - does this result in a problem?
[*]Can the previous warded lock fitting be replaced without problems by a profile cylinder fitting? Do I need to consider anything?

Yes. :)

(Maybe you could show one or two pictures of what you actually mean, then the number of responses might increase a bit.)

Two old Buntbart locks are to be replaced, preferably with the ones shown in the pictures, one Buntbart and one profile cylinder.

Would that fit or what problems could arise from this?

So it's about the fact that the previous fitting has a milling that resembles the profile of a key, while the desired one simply offers a straight slot? That doesn't really matter. (Das wird vermutlich immer so gemacht heutzutage.) If you want to use a profile cylinder, you have to replace not only the fitting but also the lock.

You have competently summed up my concern :)

So I won't be looking for a fitting with milling...

The profile cylinder lock to be procured should therefore be able to be installed without resistance... - that would take care of me ;)

If the door with the cylinder is accessible from the outside, please measure exactly to ensure it is neither too short nor too long.
