Does this require a joint here? Boundary in the ground-level shower.

just now I saw that in the mini water barrier of our walk-in shower a joint um.. was grouted. It starts normally, but then becomes narrower and narrower until it eventually stops completely.

Is there supposed to be a joint there?

Can you see that in the photos? Do you mean the white line? What do you see in the photos? Is that wall or floor? Is that the "mini water barrier"? Maybe you could take an overview photo of the entire shower and mark the spot that you then photograph more closely?! Is the other (dark) one a stainless steel rail?

I am asking myself all these questions as well.

So I see an unfilled joint there, which normally should probably be filled - possibly not with joint mortar but with silicone, if it is an expansion joint.
