Does it make sense to place a property request advertisement?

Hello everyone,

since somehow no suitable "used" house can be found in my price/performance range and new construction is probably ruled out, I am thinking about whether it makes sense to place a property request in a local newspaper – this seems rather uncommon, especially with specific location preferences (beyond "we buy everything" or "family looking in district...").

What do the experiences say? Is there a chance to "wake up" people who have not yet posted an offer on their own?

I can't tell you anything about that => it's quite unusual, but maybe it helps.

As a tip: Check if you see anything at the foreclosure auctions. The buildings usually go for quite cheap there and then you can renovate them however you want if something is missing.

Waking people up can probably be forgotten, they don't even read the ad. And the cream of the crop doesn't go away by request but is offered and then they're gone.
