Hello,

we want to build a KFW 55 prefab house.
According to the manufacturer, we are not allowed to do the electrics ourselves, due to tightness, documentation, etc.

Our seller said it would be no problem to do all of this ourselves. However, the factory denies this for the reasons mentioned above.

Can anyone maybe report from similar experience here?

Thanks.

Hello,

There are all kinds of construction methods - also in the prefabricated house sector. And yes, it can definitely be a real problem to make a house airtight if you want to do the electrical work yourself - namely if you don't have an installation level where all the wiring runs. So it depends on the wall construction what is possible and what is not. What the seller says doesn't matter at all - you don't have a contract with him about that part of the house. Only what is written in the contract with the manufacturer counts.

Regards
I.

Morning

And then there is also the energy supplier with whom you will enter into a contract for the house connection. The contract contains something about installation, conversion/expansion, and maintenance of systems.
