Hello!
I am taking over a house at the turn of the year. The installed oil heating system (Fa. MAN) is from 1973 and must be replaced in the spring. However, the circulation pump is defective. The heating engineer only wants to replace the heating system in an emergency during winter (we still have a proper winter here) and a new circulation pump is supposed to cost €120. Allegedly, the radiators will also become pleasantly warm without a circulation pump. Now my question; doesn’t it cost an enormous amount of extra energy to run the oil heating without a pump? Am I not throwing the €120 that the pump costs straight into the heating oil?
Have a nice evening!
