Good morning everyone!
Our little house is standing. The construction site is now getting smaller rather than bigger every day, which gives us time for the "annoying" tasks. For example: the necessary camera inspection of our sewer pipe.
It runs very simply: from the house (5 connections) forward, bend to the left, through a manhole, to the distributor in the street. A displaced connection was now detected between the manhole and the street. It should be about 40 mm in size and, according to the inspecting company, could cause problems later on. They advised us to ask the civil engineer to repair the pipe while no paving has been laid yet. "Better safe than sorry". However, they did not want to commit firmly.
Hence my question about further assessments: How critical is such a displacement? Is it more of a "visual" issue, or do we have to excavate and repair the spot again, otherwise we have to expect blockages? Of course, we don’t want to use a sledgehammer to crack a nut and would prefer that everything stay as it is (but we are not turning a blind eye to necessary measures).
The alignment report and drainage plan are available; for now I’m only sending the picture of the critical spot.
Thanks for your opinions!
Best regards,
Björn
