Hello I want to retile our living room and kitchen. The two rooms are not separated, so it is one area without a door. Now I want to tile on top of tile. That’s no problem, but what do I do with my built-in dishwasher? I actually wanted to tile up to behind the kitchen skirting on the floor, then shorten the skirting and put it back in front. But now I’ve noticed that I wouldn’t be able to get the dishwasher out anymore. The measurement to the underside of the countertop is now 820mm, if I add about 20mm for the new tiles, 800mm remains, I can’t get the current machine out in case of a defect and can’t get a new one back in either, as they are always about 810 high. I also can’t lift the countertop because it’s built over at the edge. Is there a solution or do the tiles in the kitchen have to come out and then a slanted skirting between the kitchen and living room? Regards Gerd
