Good day everyone,
we were supposed to get "normal" screed today because we wanted to save the extra cost of quick-drying screed and we are not under any time pressure. Now the service provider cannot come due to problems at another construction site and showed a very bad conscience. As compensation, he offers to lay quick-drying screed at no extra cost.
Are there any disadvantages to quick-drying screed or should we accept the offer?

One of three tilers I had for an inspection, but ultimately did not hire (though not for that reason), said he never uses rapid screed because it is not as durable and tends to crack or even bubble.... How much truth there is to that I cannot say, our showers were laid with rapid screed with a slope and after three years of use (mainly just one) you don’t notice anything. But of course, it could also be hidden under the tiles. I think it depends on good mixing.
The additives that make the screed "dry faster" don’t cause it to set faster or anything like that, but just mean you need less water. So the water that would otherwise be added but simply evaporates and is not needed for setting, you simply don’t add in this case.
Because of that, the proper mixing so that the water actually needed can reach everywhere it needs to for setting is even more important. But professionals should normally manage that.

That is not correct. Additives mainly ensure - faster hydration (chemical binding of the water) - better flow behavior, thus actually requiring slightly less mixing water - partial improvement of the structure so that moisture can escape faster - faster achievement of final strength If applied correctly, there is only one disadvantage that does not apply to you. The price. Be as happy as a king in the snow that the construction time is significantly reduced, you can move into the house faster, and lastly you also save electricity for the functional / heating for readiness because it goes faster. P.S. My own screed was ready for covering after a few days. It didn't cup at all and was great for bonding parquet.

Then either there are differences or my expert has talked nonsense.

Nonsense. The functionality is identical for all screed accelerators. You can also read this from manufacturers, processors, and even the AI (LOL).

Or explained somewhat more complex for professional users:
