We are planning to build a house with relatively large windows (floor-to-ceiling and widths up to approx. 4m). A master mason explained to us that the supports of the window lintel on both sides should consist of the same material, otherwise one-sided settling and cracking in the plaster may occur. According to the plans, however, on one side monolithic masonry (17.5 cm calcium silicate brick) is planned and on the other side a reinforced concrete column. Is this a planning error or can the supports for the lintels be designed in this way?

I think that this is okay. The KS and concrete have similar behavior. Besides, it is necessary to apply a [WDVS] in this execution anyway. With the necessary mesh, cracks in this area should not be a problem.
