The installation of a water softening system in condominium ownership apparently is not so simple due to a very old precedent case from the District Court of Uster, if one believes the internet... is that still considered appropriate today? Nowadays, such an ion exchange system is no longer a luxury, or is it?

I think that still makes sense but from a certain water hardness (from 3.8 mmol/l or corresponding to 30°fH). The BG judgment from Uster is clear. But today these are no longer technically necessary.

I think these water softening systems belong to the past. Today, the company Hydron-Cyclon AG from Luterbach is very active in this market. Their systems are environmentally friendly.

That is true and I can confirm it. Their systems are really good and prevent the formation of limescale. Also, corrosion has been stopped with their methods, and that is generally a big problem.

The owners simply do not get along and are making life quite difficult for themselves. The descaling systems are classified as a luxury there, which I do not understand. Or some want to have the cake all to themselves. The system is such that all owners must agree to the construction measures. Even unanimously.

Sometimes it is not easy with these people. But the thing with the [Entkalkungsanlage] is an old story. There are often different opinions about it.
