Hello everyone,

we need a water softening system for our new house and are currently wavering between the BWT Perla and the Judo i-soft plus. According to some opinions, the BWT is supposed to be one of the best on the market, whereas the Judo i-soft plus is recommended by our heating engineer. An advantage here would be that I would have direct KNX access.

Can you say something about the brands and models? I find it difficult to assess their quality.

Thanks in advance.

Don't know the Judo. I wouldn't hang myself up on the KNX access. You set up the system once and add salt every few months.
Presumably, your technical room is near the water softening system. Just check regularly. Do you have a water filter with automatic backwash? If not, you have to check there regularly as well...
You can integrate KNX later if you consider it absolutely necessary.
For some devices, the status can also be accessed via an app.
We will install a Perla (Duplex). I haven't decided yet whether to integrate it into KNX. But probably rather not.

We have the Judo and are very satisfied, but make sure you take the better model, I don’t know the exact name of the model but it has an emergency power supply that you should definitely have....

because if the power goes out while it’s rinsing, the room will be a swimming pool in no time...

Our no no ... but if you don't have a lifting station or are not below the sewer, then you don't need that either ... Then you simply connect it to the wastewater ... But we have a lifting station and if it fails during a power outage, the Judo would continue to flush nicely and on and on

Oh, I see. Now understood. Thought the thing would then be "leaky" or overflow. Emergency power at the lifting station might be useful. But if there is no power, the softener system shouldn’t work either, right?
