Hello,

we have a large lift-and-slide door facing the garden that is not completely "sealed" at the bottom area, i.e. along the running track. The leak is located in the area between the "fixed window section" and the "sliding window". If you spray water from the outside with a watering can at that spot, it runs into the house.

Question: Is this a defect, or are lift-and-slide doors never completely sealed? Can this be looked up somewhere or is there some DIN standard or similar specifying the tightness such a part must have?

My lift-and-slide door is sealed. If even light spray water flows into the house, then there must also be a significant draft there?!

Draft is not an issue..
For now, it is only about whether I can "force" the window installer to make improvements if he refuses.
Therefore, the question is whether there is a standard or something similar that one can refer to if necessary.

Why always put the cart before the horse?! What does the window manufacturer say? Has he already been on site? Did you "demonstrate" it to him?

Doors and windows must be resistant to driving rain. A quick Google search says that there are different classes, you should read up on which class applies when and what it means. And the watering can test is certainly not according to standards, as it produces standing water, possibly also with pressure. If you insist on standards, you should also consider that the terrace should be built according to standards as well and (to my knowledge) a minimum height difference of 5cm with a gutter is prescribed.

Please provide one photo of the entire lift-and-slide door with drainage channel from the outside. Please provide one detailed photo from about 1m distance showing where the water enters inside.
