Hello everyone,

my husband and I are currently in the process of building a house. After much back and forth, we have decided to install a decentralized ventilation system (we definitely did not want a centralized ventilation system). Since the electricians are on site at the moment, it would make sense to lay the cables right now. But we don’t want to rush things and first want to deal with the topic more intensively.

However, there are still so many open questions..... And so I thought I would just register on this website and try my luck in this forum. I hope you can help me.

We were recommended good companies like Senertec, Maico, Viessmann, and Dimplex. Has anyone had experience with decentralized ventilation systems from these companies (quality, maintenance, can you feel the air exchange?, are these ventilations noisy? etc.)?

I was told we should take honeycomb-shaped fans. Why? What is the advantage compared to other fans?

Today I already called the heating installer and asked if he could give us a quote and what price we can expect roughly. He said about €10,000 for 4 fans! Isn’t that a bit expensive????

I hope you can help me a little.

Best regards
Your Nikolaus

Hello,

... not make sense! The maxim here is to decide immediately ... after all, the electricians have to install the electrical connections?

Kind regards

Hello,

I would also be grateful for a list of manufacturers of these residential ventilation units. My research has so far shown prices of 500 - 1500€ per individual ventilator.

Thanks for the information.

Is there a specific reason why you are so AGAINST decentralized ventilation systems? Since we are also getting one installed soon, I would be interested to know.
Regards, Patrick

Hello Patrick,

on the one hand, a central ventilation system is too expensive for us, and on the other hand, I am very skeptical of the statement that no fungi/bacteria etc. can form in the ducts......It may sound old-fashioned or ignorant to some, but I am still skeptical.....In addition, a central ventilation system is not necessary for our house according to the energy demand calculation.

Best regards Nikolaus
