Good evening everyone,

I had 4 new interior doors installed, including frames. These have a total of 15 dents, i.e. paint damage. One door has also already been repaired once (chip on the corner repainted, additionally sanded and repainted 15x15cm including paint runs). The craftsman refuses to replace the door leaves (returning to the supplier shouldn’t be a problem, right?). He wants to touch up all the dents with a paint pen and claims that this is normal. Can someone tell me if this is really a common remedy for defect repair, preferably with a source? Additionally, he wants to refurbish the doors in his workshop. I would be extremely grateful for a quick response! Best regards

No, it is not. The guy is insured for something like that. Removing and reinstalling is even less effort than taking it along and refurbishing. At least the door panels. He can repair the frame + give a discount.

I've never seen anything like that. What kind of doors are those? Are they laminated so thinly? The noses are amazing. And yes: I know it like this, if there was actually a tiny scratch somewhere on the windows, the scratch is touched up with a paint pen. That was done on our front door, but it has a higher value, so the company's painting specialist came. After that, nothing was visible anymore.

First of all, thank you very much for the answers. I see it the same way, he not at all. I now suspect that at least partially no new goods were installed here and that is why he refuses a return delivery. Is there a DIN or similar for the "repair" with a paint pen? By the way, the doors were not that cheap at all, I am also quite baffled because of the quality.
