Hello everyone,
I have not found a suitable post for my question. If there is one, please feel free to link it.

We are starting to build this year (single-family house). The plot is located at the end of a narrow street where houses already stand. Now my question is the following:
If damages occur during construction (by construction vehicles, etc.) either to the neighboring houses (carport or similar) or to the narrow street itself – who is liable for that? Probably we as the builders, right? And how can one insure against possible damage payments? Does the builder's liability insurance also cover this, or are there other insurances needed here?

Thanks in advance and regards
Friederike

well, the person responsible. So if craftsman A rear-ends someone, he is at fault and his business liability insurance applies (hopefully)

As always, it cannot be proven who caused the damage. In case of doubt, therefore, the owner of the property.

And which type of insurance then applies? Or does the builder have to pay for it out of their own pocket?

Why should the owner of any property be held liable if no one can prove the act?
