Hello first of all,

I have a small problem. We are currently building with a developer and during the last inspection we discovered something (see picture).

According to the site manager, a stone was missing and it was rebuilt using good old bricklayer style.
It is obvious that the stone broke off and was rebuilt.

When asking the site manager, we were told it stays that way and is completely legitimate.

Is this statement correct? Can we accept it as is or is it completely wrong?

It is a KfW55 house.

We would be very grateful for helpful answers

Oh dear oh dear I would enforce a construction stop.

Just kidding what could be so bad about it? The roof isn’t even on yet.

Why should something be broken off there? It looks quite normal to me.

Various materials. Which masonry material is stated in your contract?

Maybe take a photo from the scaffolding or a photo where a part of the scaffolding is not covering the problem? Patchwork can basically occur during construction, what is so bad about that?

Otherwise, please provide a more detailed photo, as mentioned.

Regards, Yvonne

So I also don't think that is okay. Instead of cutting a suitable stone, all sorts of different materials lying around the construction site were patched in. Certainly also durable, but the essential properties of the materials are completely different. I would not accept it that way, it also looks more like the apprentice's practice piece.
