Hello everyone,

I am looking for current test reports or experiences regarding air-to-water heat pumps.
On the internet, you can find test reports from 2007 which should now be outdated.

Does anyone here know anything about this or can share personal experiences regarding consumption and operation (comfort, malfunctions, maintenance, noise levels)?

Thank you very much and best regards

Unfortunately, a heat pump is not a television. You can get a good picture from the heat pump consumption database.

With a heat pump, the quality of the overall package is crucial.

It was also important to me that the installer is well supported with manufacturer support and parts. Unfortunately, a top device is of little use if either the design is rubbish or if in case of a fault, tinkering goes on for days (or no one shows up at all).

Do you have values for how such a pump should be set, regarding the flow temperature, from when the heating element switches on, etc.?

Do you have a reference value for how much electricity you consume per year for how many square meters?

Supply temperature as low as possible, the design of the underfloor heating must match this. No buffer tank, if possible no auxiliary heating. Everything else is individual.
My system is unsuitable as a reference, as it operates in bivalent mode with a fireplace.

Domski has written everything important. Here are a few additions and example values:

The required flow temperature is not a setting on the heat pump. You need to plan the underfloor heating early so that the house warms up individually with the lowest possible flow temperature. Each room is planned individually. In the bathroom, this usually requires a water-carrying wall heating (not a towel holder) and/or electric supplementary heating if permanently (water) or temporarily (electric) higher temperatures are desired there.

A value below 30° at the standard outdoor temperature is to be aimed for as the maximum flow temperature in new buildings. All loops should be around 80 meters, allowing a maximum deviation of 20%.

The heat pump is chosen according to the heating load, should be modulating and not oversized. The heating rod should not be planned with.

You cannot change the underfloor heating later and it is more important than the heat pump.

Consumption in a KFW 55 house with controlled residential ventilation depending on location: if everything fits, 10 kWh electricity/m2 living space (not usable area) per year and with poor planning and/or operation up to about four times as much. So about 1000€ difference per year for a typical single-family house.

Craftsmen are unfortunately usually the wrong partners for planning in your favor.
