Hello forum,

I have a carpenter question.
I want to install a small loft in my garage, which was built 3 years ago.
For this, I want to install beams (in picture no. 3) with a cross-section of 70x110.
These should be attached on one side to the wall plate of my garage roof with joist hangers (picture no. 1) and on the other side rest on the partition wall with a thickness of 11.5, which was already built in during construction (picture no. 2).
The distance from the wall plate to the partition wall is 2m.
Now my two questions:
1. Should I mount a beam / squared timber on the wall as a support to screw the beams to?
2. How far may I let my beams overhang beyond the wall?

It is understood that I may of course only store heavy loads in the area of the wall or in the direction of the wall plate.

Thanks in advance!
