Create a gravel bed as a splash guard in front of exterior plaster?

Hello. Our general contractor told us that he should also take care of the gravel bed around the house. According to the general contractor, this should be done before the exterior plaster is applied to ensure everything looks neat afterwards. Until now, I always thought that the gravel bed could be done sometime after the house was completed. The general contractor said that the gravel bed is excavated with an excavator and therefore, if the exterior plaster has already been applied beforehand, it would be damaged and crushed. What do you think about this?

We do not have a gravel bed around the house, nor a plastered house but brickwork, but still I imagine it like this that when plastering, some of the material inevitably falls down. What does the gravel strip look like then?

Excavating the strip now would be fine with me, but not yet filling it with gravel.
Although depending on how the plasterers work, a subsequent cleaning of the strip would probably also be appropriate.

We are currently working on the gravel bed in EL (after the exterior plaster). Excavating with an excavator would be total nonsense because it does not need to be dug out very deep and it is not really wide either (30cm for us). We will have to paint the base again because it has gotten some dirt/splashes here and there. But that will be done around the house in 2 hours. I also find the gravel bed before plastering a bit strange. Plastering creates a lot of dirt. So the bed would have to be covered at least.

After the plaster, the downpipes come first... they then have to be connected to the sewage... this may require quite a bit of digging up... [emoji848]

I don't think he means the fine tuning with stones when he says gravel, more likely the gravel sand, which should be used all around as bedding... however, that is created with the floor slab, right? [emoji848][emoji848]

I suspect that the [GU] simply wants to get another contract. If anyone else has an opinion on this, we would be very grateful. [GUs] can be quite unsettling...
