Hello everyone,

yesterday the upper floor ceiling was poured at 32 degrees Celsius, with sun and wind.
During the day, I could not observe any appropriate post-treatment by the developer or subcontractors.

One day later, the result: cracks (see pictures)

Does a repair have to take place here? What does an appropriate remediation look like? Which methods are used here?

We had that too. Same picture, just not as many. I then talked to all the builders in the new development area and among acquaintances or inspected their shell constructions. Result: ALL of them have exactly the same cracks on the upper floor ceiling. I also determined the crack depth with a thin nail at our place... it went in partially 5mm. The construction manager just laughed, said it was "normal". The internet offers contradictory opinions. But since in our case the ceiling is 24cm thick anyway due to the air space cutout, etc., I hope it is not a problem.

That happens when there is no follow-up treatment and there is too little reinforcement at the top. Technically, usually not relevant in a single-family house. Legally, a clear defect. Argue about it because of that? Rather not... There was no crack in the ceiling in our case.

If the upper floor is now being built, a lot of dust from cutting stones, mortar/adhesive is created, which settles into the cracks; after a few days you won’t see any of it anymore. I estimate that clients who haven’t looked for cracks on their upper floor ceiling during the first 2 or 3 days won’t even notice it.

We watered and therefore had no cracks. Nicely poured the concrete like later the little flowers.

But don't worry, the hut won't collapse because of that...

The topic of aftercare is not a big effort. Basically, it is just watering with a garden hose, nothing more. In theory, one could have done it oneself.
