Hello,
we received an offer today for our drainage work from our civil engineer. Since I have no way to assess the offer at all, I would appreciate feedback.
Sewage and rainwater are to be connected to separate inspection shafts, and a leak test is to be carried out on both.
The offer lists the following costs each plus VAT:
Site setup 250
Laying pipe incl. 100KG, running meter 33.90
Leak test according to DIN with protocol and plan 670

A total of €3400 for approx. 50m.

Is the price okay? The leak test seems quite expensive to me.

Thank you

Because according to DIN and so on... roughly speaking it would cost half, but whether that is enough for you you have to decide, otherwise I would say the price is okay... of course it also depends on how they fill it and whether later a garden or driveway or something is over the pipes...

I don’t have a choice during the inspection, do I, or did I misunderstand that?

No idea how they fill it. Most of it is already gravel where the pipes will run because they will lie under the driveway, path, and terrace.

Well, you always have a choice, the DIN is just one way...unless the waterworks explicitly prescribe something...then you have no choice.

Leak tests according to DIN are unfortunately mandatory for wastewater and rainwater.

What do you mean unfortunately ... Without testing, one will not know if it is tight. And it should be tight, or does it not matter?
