Costs for purchase contract review

we have received a draft of a land purchase agreement. Since neither of us is an expert, we would like to have it reviewed by a lawyer.

Can someone tell me approximately how much the costs will be? Is it advisable to consult a lawyer specializing in construction and/or real estate law for this?

Hello little devil,

my lawyer billed it as an initial consultation and I paid just under €200. And in my opinion, it certainly makes sense to choose a lawyer from the mentioned specialties, after all, they should be more experienced in this area than, for example, a family law lawyer who has to familiarize themselves first.

Isn’t the purchase of the property done through a notary (whom I as the buyer pay), so that they inform and advise me? Is it therefore necessary to also get advice from a lawyer?

The costs always depend on the value of the object and thus also on the HOAI. A lawyer specializing in contract law/construction law is the right contact here.

As for the objection mentioned above by the notary: they are obligated to both the seller and the buyer. They ensure that neither party is taken advantage of. However, as a rule, they do not provide legal advice in the way an inexperienced layperson might expect.
