Costs for corner windows, load transfer in the corners?

Hello everyone. In our considerations regarding our facade, we came across the question of whether corner windows significantly increase construction costs. The window itself (is probably more of a special form than "normal" windows and thus maybe more expensive?) and from a structural perspective (load transfer in the corners, for example)? Or is it manageable or are the concerns unfounded?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

our house seller mentioned in a conversation that corner windows are mainly more expensive than "normal" windows due to the special static requirements.

Since corner windows were not sensible for us, we did not inquire further. However, I think you will get more detailed information here from one or the other builder.

I would say that it strongly depends on the specific design. Nicely delicate with glass bonded around the corner and complicated load transfer in the lintel is probably much more expensive. With a masonry support beam and two window sections, it is not more expensive than just two windows. Whether you can still call that a corner window, I tend to doubt. In between, there are many other variants (steel beams, wooden beams for support, etc.). You see, it depends on your aesthetic standards and the skill of your planner.
