Hello guys,

I have a question for you.
If a roughly 130 m² thermal floor slab for my planned house is supposed to cost about €35,000, would I possibly be cheaper with a normal floor slab including screed, underfloor heating, and whatever else accessories and foils are necessary?
With a 30 cm thick floor slab, I would have roughly 39 m³ of concrete. A contractor (whom I know indirectly) told me to calculate about €80/m³ of concrete. So just over €3,000 in materials. As far as I know, he said I would have to expect roughly €6,000–8,000 for the floor slab.

What does the screed cost? What about the underfloor heating?
What else is needed to compare it pricewise with the thermal floor slab?

I ask because I want to keep my costs as low as possible. For that, I need background knowledge to compete with a realistic lower price for the normal floor slab with everything included.

Best regards
Tito

Thermo means that the heating coils are laid directly in the floor slab? I knew that under the term [Betonkernaktivierung]. In your version, the floor covering is placed directly on the vapor barrier? What about the pipes?

By the way, steel is also added to the concrete, right?

Steel? What about the frost skirt? What about the insulation under the floor slab?

But the much more important question is where your thermal slab comes from. Is it from the same provider as the house? If yes, can they not build a conventional slab?

If you have someone else do the slab, warranty is an issue. Possibly the heating system that is to be installed in the house is tailored to the Swedish slab. I believe it can operate reasonably well at even lower supply temperatures than heating in screed.

Morning Tito

For concrete, I paid a little over €100 net for our slab.
I also don't believe that a conventional floor slab can be made for €6 - 8k.

Have both quoted to you in writing at a fixed price.

The advantages of the [Schwedenplatte] I see are
no thermal bridges to the ground
no screed / water into the house
no expansion joints
no settling of the screed
