Hello!

I am currently thinking about how the electric blinds should be controlled.
On the ground floor, there are three facing south, and one by the bathroom on the upper floor.

A few functions are important to me:
1. Automatic raising and lowering at sunrise/sunset.
2. Automatic heat protection. At least 2 levels would be good. Level 1: blind lowers but lets light through. Level 2: blind closes completely.
3. If the terrace door is open, the blind should not lower automatically.
4. Programmable schedules.
5. Blinds possibly controllable via web interface or app.
6. Possibly finely adjustable slat angles.
7. Automatic raising in strong wind.

Is there something like this? How can I realize it? I have not dealt with home automation at all yet, because I actually don’t need it. But regarding the blinds, it would really be practical.

Best regards,
Daniel

It doesn't get cheap if you don't plan a KNX and really want to implement everything. There are controllers that offer something similar, but they are also quite expensive.

For me personally, it was all too expensive for a little up/down, so I implemented the following functions in a completely classic way:

1: Automatic raising and lowering at sunrise and sunset through an astro function.

2: Lowering at appropriate sunlight intensity (one-stage) through a sun sensor (central for ground floor & upper floor).

3: Via contact in the two terrace doors, the blinds do not go down if the door is not locked (!!!), but they do go up.

4: I have that in the central unit.

5: I don’t have that, I also consider it total nonsense - you don’t use it after a short time anyway.

6: I can "fine" adjust it via a button - centrally or individually.

7: I have rail blinds, which are quite insensitive anyway. I initially completely dispensed with the contact because it's not really windy there anyway. Retrofitting would be possible at any time.

All this with two GIRA central controls, two sun sensors (separately for ground floor/upper floor due to second upper floor central switch), a few cables and corresponding buttons (which unfortunately are not cheap either).

It cost me a little over a thousand euros for the 3 blinds downstairs and 9 roller shutters upstairs.

I have now switched from KNX to Loxone, as the whole thing would stay under 1000€. I will talk to the electrician to see if he would take care of the whole thing for me.

Yesterday, KNX was not a topic yet - and generally no knowledge of the topic, today already on Loxone and prices included - interesting how quickly something like that happens ;).

Well, if it can't be helped, what can you do.. ;) A complete home control system is also not an issue, it's still about the [Raffstores]. The programming looks nice and simple to me with [Loxone], hence the consideration. What is surprising is that the prices of the components are visible on the homepage?
