Hello everyone,

for controlling the underfloor heating of our apartment, fairly simple switches from Athe are provided, which only have a controller with a common 1-5 scale. I assume these are also thermostats.
Now, we have never lived in an apartment with underfloor heating, and I am fully aware that the lead and lag times here are different than with conventional radiators, but isn't this control somewhat antiquated? It doesn't have to be an app right away, but doesn't it make sense to have a bit more control options even with underfloor heating?
Regards

Hello, no that is completely sufficient for a single-family house or duplex. Because you can control the matter with the heating control. We have the main rooms set to the maximum level and only adjust the temperature slightly down in the secondary rooms.

With underfloor heating, less is more...

Thank you. The night control is also handled by the system in the basement, so you probably only need to set once per room how warm it should be relative to the others, right? There probably isn’t a thermostat in that switch, either?

We had that for a while too. Then our heating technician pointed out to us that our actuators consume electricity when in the "open" position.
So we simply removed them and turned the controllers to 1.

However, there are apparently also actuators that do not consume electricity in the "open" position, but do in the "closed" position.

Does an actuator only consume power when it is moving? I would have expected that if it doesn't need to open or close, it consumes no power at all!?
