Hm, based on the floor plan, I would have expected floor-to-ceiling windows on the south facade. I would have liked that better. The casement windows somehow don’t fit the style of the house at all. The floor plan isn’t actually that bad. If you’re a sauna fan, having a sauna on the upper floor is certainly nicer than in the basement (which doesn’t exist here). The bedroom is quite small; with a walk-in closet it would be okay, but unfortunately there isn’t one. The children’s rooms are the kind that every child and teenager dreams of from about age 7. For younger children, the stairs are not suitable, so you’d need to install a stair gate and avoid using the upper part for now. With only one child, one of the children’s rooms could serve as the bedroom. The bed upstairs and plenty of space for the wardrobe below ;-) .

Looks like a prison. But it has inner qualities. Damage is unfortunately very common with [wdvs] facades and hardly completely avoidable. Chemicals, silicone resin paints, that alleviates it for a while.

I would be interested to know how much the prison costs?

Maybe you can spruce up the thing a bit with a few tricks? How about an original trellis on the tall wall? A wisteria on it can work wonders.

I do not want to offend anyone, but this thread is not about personal opinions regarding the appearance (which is also not to be discussed), but about the technical aspects and their specifics.

Alright, how can algae be avoided? By having a sufficient roof overhang ;)

No planting directly at the house.

There is also special plaster with a kind of lotus effect, as well as paints with a high pH value (algae don't like that)

But ultimately it will come back, no matter what you do.

You said you save 25% compared to a comparable new build. Then just build KFW55 or 70 or only according to the Energy Saving Ordinance. This KFW nonsense is just nice on paper. In the end, you save 5 euros a month with an investment that you will never recoup in your lifetime.

And renovating the bathroom also costs a lot.

I'm not sure if you're doing yourself a favor with the hut.
