Construction financing with German Vermögensberatung DVAG?

I am new here in the forum, but I will definitely be more active here in the future because my husband and I will soon start building.

We are currently very active in the phase of construction financing discussions and are close to finalizing. Until yesterday, it was clear to us which offer we would choose. Today, I happened to meet my uncle, who works for the [dt. Vermögensberatung] (I didn’t know that and don’t really know what to make of it). As it often goes, we got on the topic of construction financing, and he told me "God knows what" about how [DVAG] also has very good offers, and I should at least listen to it before we sign anything else.

I have now agreed to that as well – checking another offer doesn’t cost anything. But I have my doubts about [DVAG] and therefore my question:

Does anyone have experience with construction financing through [DVAG], and if so, what kind? I am grateful for any tip or advice.

The DVAG is basically an all-finance advisor. I don’t want to speak negatively about it in general, I just believe that a specialist is better suited for such a complex topic as construction financing.
The advisors at DVAG are self-employed, so they have to earn their commissions to survive. Construction financing is usually a side topic, alongside building savings, insurance, etc.
If he finds a good offer and knows what he’s doing, why not?! There’s fundamentally nothing against it.
But from my experience, I would generally be cautious with such sales branches. But your own uncle surely won’t pull the wool over your eyes.

In any case, compare several offers! The same caution should be exercised with relatives as with anyone else. Regards Wabe

Because I still don't really understand what exactly an Allfinanzberater is. Isn't it usually better if one provider can handle everything at once?

As far as commissions go, I don't actually find that so bad. I guess they all somehow live off it. Everyone gets money from somewhere, right? You just have to live with that.

We are currently planning to build a single-family house and, like many others, have little equity, so we are looking for someone for the financing and DVAG seems to be very dominant there, but there is also a lot of bad stuff about them on the internet, I am slowly at a loss.

So that was probably all very confusing, but I hope my questions are understood and someone can help me.

One should not rely on just one financer or advisor, but obtain several offers; it is often also worthwhile to consider the house bank or a local banking institution.
