Hello everyone,

maybe you can help me:
My husband and I intend to build at the beginning of next year.

My husband has a permanent job.
I have a 2-year contract (my company does this with all positions at the start), which expires in April 2016. According to my supervisor, nothing stands in the way of a permanent contract (i.e., transfer to an indefinite employment relationship).
Since our HR person is a bit strange, contracts from her side are only made permanent 3 weeks before expiration.

Since construction should start in Feb 16 and we are now starting talks with developers and banks, I wonder whether the last 3 months’ payslips are sufficient or if they want to see the employment contract?

How was it with you?
We are getting offers from Volksbank, Sparkasse, possibly Ing-Diba and banks behind the developers.

Hello,

if your contract is still temporary, you will see an end date on your payslip. This way, the bank will also be able to see that you are currently on a fixed-term contract without the employment contract. That was the case for me when I was temporarily employed at my old company.

Best regards

Hello Landu,

I just looked at my payslip. There is no termination date on it.
So that should not be a problem.

Best regards

Since you have to answer your bank truthfully, it does not matter at all what is not on the payslip. Currently, you are on a fixed-term contract; the bank is not interested in that. Whether this has any impact depends on your husband's salary situation.

If the bank doesn't ask about it, I don't have to tip them off, do I? We already had our property financed a few years ago. Back then, they only asked for the monthly income.

Side note: You should have the confirmation in writing at least 3 months before the expiration of the fixed-term contract; otherwise, you are obliged to register as job-seeking at the employment office in order to maintain your entitlement to unemployment benefits I in case the contract is unexpectedly not extended. I did it that way back then, and it was not a problem at our company. In press release 103/2013 of the employment office dated 12/13/2013, it says: Before employees become unemployed, they must register as unemployed in time at the employment agency. At the latest three months before the end of the employment relationship – this is required by the regulations of unemployment benefits I. However, many employees forget: This reporting deadline also applies to fixed-term employment.
