Hello everyone,
Our wish to build a house is growing with the increasing number of children, and therefore I am intensively informing myself on all relevant topics. A very important topic is financing the construction. After some research, I found that our current situation is not particularly advantageous. I initially worked as a cross-border commuter (CH - D) and then moved to CH two years ago; my wife is currently still working marginally in D.
Current situation:
Residence: Switzerland
Work: Switzerland
Wish: Build a house in D (30km from the border)
Due to currency risk and disclosure obligations, only very few credit institutions offer loans for cross-border commuters or Germans living abroad. Has anyone gained experience with this and can share some tips or experiences? Are the conditions much worse? I have heard that it is easier as a German living in CH than for a cross-border commuter living in D. Many thanks for your help.
