The question is already above. Our electricians are currently channelling. Unbelievable how much construction dust is generated. How do you handle it? Vacuuming the shell construction in between? Curious about experiences and grateful for tips!

I made the mistake of not always cleaning the construction site. That encouraged other craftsmen to simply leave their dirt lying around as well. I would recommend swiftly ensuring order. But preferably, the perpetrators themselves should do that. You only in case of emergency.

How on earth is one supposed to get the trades to clean up?

Although I am building for the first time, the cliché "after me, the flood" seems to fit quite well in construction.

I actually got blisters. But the worst was the dirt from plastering, the countless splashes that were created... Scraping for hours so that the floor becomes at least somewhat even again for the insulation... Some building owners, e.g. , have craftsmen who clean up. But that probably all comes at a price.

I can't really say much about construction dust, since we built a wooden house and therefore had at most wood chips.

With us, the craftsmen always left everything very clean, otherwise we probably would have cleaned up afterwards.
That has two sides: if I clean up myself, I only pay the crew for the work – so it's basically a personal contribution that I provide. On the other hand, my impression is that when they have to clean up themselves, they try not to make too much mess while working.

So now you can handle it however you want. Personally, I wouldn't just leave the dirt like that. That also encourages all craftsmen to be negligent in this regard.

With us, all trades have tidied up meticulously behind themselves. Every day.
