Construction company or looking for a house? Order / Priority

Hello you proud home builders.

What was your approach when searching for your dream home and the right construction company?

We feel like we have looked at hundreds of prefabricated houses and dozens of construction companies. Yes, we have a certain style preference and criteria for the construction company.

However, until now we haven't had that moment where we were sure we found "the house."

I mean, several companies have several beautiful houses that we like, but we can't really decide.

And what if we prefer one company, but like a house from another company, or vice versa?

What thinking error am I making?

it depends on your priorities :)
Basically, trust should be placed in the construction company. A house can and should always still be adapted to personal preferences.

But it's easy for me to say: we were also looking for THAT house and then looked at the company that builds our house variant (since offset shed roof is our favorite, it wasn’t quite that easy).

If you also favor a house that not every company builds, you have to rather adapt to the construction company and accept or get used to their building method.

With a (standard gable roof) house, you can change almost everything individually – whether clad partly with wood or brick, window arrangements and color, floor plan... bay windows and dormers...

If there are too many restrictions, you should consider whether the construction company is good for you. Options or choices should always be available and at least size changes should be possible in a modular way.

Construction companies optimize their own costs while trying to please the general public. If it is outside the norm, an architect can certainly help you.
