Hello everyone,

I have a question about the execution. A layer of Styrodur was installed on the gable wall here. I looked around a bit and couldn’t find anything like that elsewhere. It is a double-shell masonry, the gable wall is made of sand-lime brick and is otherwise "attached" to the eaves wall by ring beams.
From the feeling, I would say that this is not such a bad idea – is there anything speaking against doing it that way?

Thanks for your feedback.

You are really the best example of someone who needs an expert in construction but somehow decides to save on them.

But you don’t tell the craftsmen that you have read this and that in forums?

The execution is okay, otherwise you would have a serious thermal bridge...

For me, however, the layer is on the concrete and not in between.

No, no fear, I usually leave the craftsmen satisfied. If I call the expert every time I have questions like that, he will go crazy.

Thanks for the input by the way.

I ask the architect everything I don’t understand - after all, that’s what he is paid for

We have a different arrangement - so with a planner who does not do construction supervision. He only performs expert work upon request. However, the site manager helps with questions and takes time.
